Episode 133: Best Selling Author & Mosaic Founder, Erwin McManus on Spirituality, Entrepreneurship & Relationships

Episode 133: Best Selling Author & Mosaic Founder, Erwin McManus on Spirituality, Entrepreneurship & RelationshipsToday on the show, we have Erwin McManus. He is an amazing spiritual thought leader and creative who's creating businesses, but also wrote books with over a million copies sold. I have seen 'em talk at the Summit of Greatness, which is an amazing conference, which only a handful of amazing, inspiring people get to talk to every year, and Erwin was one of the speakers. He blew me away, I reached out, and I got him to come on the podcast and talk to you all about the things that actually, are connected to our being, which are communication, spirituality, desires, how to overcome challenges, how to find your passion and work on what you love, how to live a happier life, how to make sense of life. This guy is just an amazing, inspiring, wise human being, a philosopher, but also a spiritual teacher, and also a coach for billion-dollar earning entrepreneurs. So everything brings together this amazing human being called Erwin McManus. Guys, enjoy the show, and don't forget to share it if you like what you heard. Let’s Begin!Brought to you by...Our very own app! And one of the things we talked about at the Summit of Greatness was that humans create futures in the same way that silkworms create silk. And beavers naturally intrinsically create dams and ants create colonies, and bees create beehives and honey, humans create futures. But it's so intrinsic to who we are that we do not realize that's our unique contribution to all the species on the planet.[13:05 - 13:46] Erwin McManus ⭐Gold Gem  I'm absolutely convinced that if you want to find proof of God, look at human nature. Human beings were created to dream, and to imagine, and to create. It's one of the things I love telling people is, look, you were born in the imagination of God. God imagined you before you existed. In that sense, God dreamed about you before you ever had your first dream. And but you were, imagined to imagine, and you were created to create. And that every human being is both a work of art and an artist at work. And I just love the fact that the best reflection of the image of God is when a human being creates good in the world.Topic: The 7 Frequencies of Communication[23:07 - 24:01] Erwin McManus ⭐Gold Gem  I'm just gonna lay 'em out real quick. There's a frequency called MOTIVATOR, which inspires and encourages. There's a frequency called CHALLENGER that calls people out and calls people up. There's a frequency called COMMANDER that tells people what to do and takes authority and control. There's a frequency called HEALER that sees everyone as broken and they want to bring healing and care. There's a frequency called the PROFESSOR. They think all that matters is the information and the facts, and all they want to do is create a transference of knowledge. There's a frequency called SEER, and they're vision casters. They're visionaries and they elevate the room by helping people see a different picture of the future, a bigger picture of their life and of the world. And then there's a frequency called the MAVEN, and a maven is a psychological mental disruptor. They change paradigms, they change the way you see reality. Those are the seven frequencies. [35:11 - 36:00] Erwin McManus ⭐Gold Gem  I think one of the great challenges people have is that they keep trying to find their purpose in their career or in their job, or in what they do. And actually, your purpose should be rooted in who you are, who you're becoming, not what you're doing. Because, if your purpose is your job and you lose your job, you've lost your purpose. If your purpose is your career and you've lost your career, you've lost your purpose. If your purpose is your success and then you have a downturn and you lose that success, you've lost your purpose. And that's why so many people go through a crisis of purpose is because their purpose was externalized in something that was outside of their control. When your purpose is outside of your control, you're in danger of losing your purpose. The only thing within your control is the person you choose to become.[38:27 - 39:10] Erwin McManus ⭐Gold Gem So I said, all right, you've lost that billion dollars, but you've gained a billion dollars worth of experience. You're not the same person you were. You're like exponentially more powerful, more knowledgeable, and you are bringing so much more to the table now than you did then. So if you could create a billion dollars from the person you were then, how much can you create with the person you are now?  And I've watched all of them rise back up, because it's not about having a million dollars or a billion dollars, it's about the person that makes you, the person you must become, to create that kinda wealth and that kind of future.[46:30 - 46:57]  Erwin McManus ⭐Gold Gem When you love what you're doing, you have more energy. So what I would say is, instead of saying, get outta bed and stop sleeping and stop being a bum and stop being lazy, I go, Hey, stop doing what you hate and find a way to do what you love and you only have one life. If, even if you spend your life making a hundred million dollars if you spent your whole life working, but you haven't enjoyed a single day, what did you make?[52:10 - 53:05] Erwin McManus ⭐Gold Gem And, so when people say you need to focus, some of it is there are people who have been given this rare gift to have one talent, and that one talent becomes the full expression of their life. I happen to not be that talented,  and so my talents are diversified and my talent is in my diversity. My talent is in the uniqueness of my diversification. And I'm able to express that talent in multiple things. I think where it becomes a problem is when you're doing things that you shouldn't be doing. The things that you don't have the talent to do or things that you don't have the passion to do or things you don't have the skill to do. And the way of knowing if you're doing too many things is are you having to cheat the process? If you're cheating the process, you shouldn't be doing it.[1:03:20 - 1:04:17] Erwin McManus ⭐Gold Gem And what is amazing is, what the study showed was that creativity and genius isn't something you learn, it's something you have to hold onto, and that actually human beings are created intrinsically creative. That every human being has a unique genius to them. But the ones we identify as geniuses, the Einsteins, the Picassos, the Mozarts, the Stephen Hawkings, the Elon Musk, the geniuses that we identify, they were not born rare, they remained rare. I think we're all born rare and most of us die ordinary and that's to me is the tragedy, is that there's intrinsic genius and I feel like that's one of my missions in life is to try to unlock the intrinsic genius inside of every human being. And to help people first be aware of the fact that there is a genius inside of you.RESOURCESWebsites and Social Media links:Instagram: @erwinmcmanusFacebook: Erwin Raphael McManushttps://theartofcommunication.org/https://thegeniusof.com/https://mosaic.org/Book Mentioned:The Genius of Jesus by Erwin Raphael McManusThe Way of the Warrior by Erwin Raphael McManusPitch Anything by Oren KlaffFlip the Script by Oren KlaffLevels of Energy by Frederick Dodson-------------------Commit First is a Personal Development Podcast for Entrepreneurs and can be found on:Our website →Apple Podcasts →Spotify ->Youtube →Or on any other favorite podcast player app.--------------🙌 Be sure to follow Sagi Shrieber on Instagram→ https://www.instagram.com/sagishrieber/

Episode 132: Understand Your Past Triggers And Heal Your Future Self (w/ Dr. Nima Rahmany)

Episode 132: Understand Your Past Triggers And Heal Your Future Self (w/ Dr. Nima Rahmany)Today on the show, we have Dr. Nima Rahmany. Dr. Nima is a retired chiropractor that went into working with healing, based on cognitive and somatic-based tools. Basically what Dr. Nima does is, he helps people break trauma bonds and heal trauma bonds, which we will talk about on the show. And he's talking about the connection between our fantasies of love, sex, and money and how we can heal those kinds of traumas and cure our past in order to create a better future. It was an amazing conversation, full value, and I would love for you guys to hear this. Before we do, I just want to ask you, if you love the show, please share it with someone that can benefit from this show. So thank you again and enjoy.Brought to you by...Our very own app! Affirmations & Co - Crush Limiting Beliefs and Manifest Your Goals with Affirmations!Follow others, get inspired by their affirmations and make them your own, add reminders of your OWN affirmations on your phone, and add widgets to help you manifest quickly!Get it on the app store or Google Play:iOS (Apple App Store) →Android (Google Play) →-------------------Gold GemsDr. Nima ⭐Gold Gem  Number one, I could make sure I can figure out, how did I get here? Number two, how do I make sure this never happens again? And if I can, and then if I can do number one and number two, can I potentially have a healthy relationship? The answer is yes. And if I can do these three, then number four, which is how do I teach other people how to not go through the exact same pathway that I did? So that's really the backstory of why I'm teaching it.Dr. Nima ⭐Gold Gem  Most of the time relationships are fantasies. They're in a fantasy, and what I discovered, is that's why every relationship I was having, I was divorced back in 2011, every relationship was failed, a failed relationship because I was entering them thinking that the other person is there to heal me from my insecurities and make me happy and all of our unresolved woundings from childhood are going to be saved by the other person. And that fails miserably when we enter that with the covert agreement that that's what's gonna happen, the relationship is doomed to fail. Dr. Nima ⭐Gold GemNow there's an option here, you either project that past wounding onto the other person and say, “Why are you doing this to me”? Which, you both are gonna be doing this to one another.Or you learn the skills of understanding your wounding, your attachment distress responses, fight, flight, freeze, and fawn. This is what happens when you get into conflict. You fight, (poke), you flight (run), “I'm getting the hell outta here”. You freeze, which is you hide or you just shut down or you fawn, which means just fixing. Let's just fix, abandon yourself and fix.Dr. Nima ⭐Gold GemTrauma is stuck, stored energy in our system. If you take on the work of shifting that stored traumatic energy through the system, your partner that used to trigger all of those past stuff, all of a sudden they'll say the thing that won't evoke the same response in you. Option number one, the dynamic shifts and arising tide lift all boats and the relationship transforms.Dr. Nima ⭐Gold GemWhat I do is I work with people and get 'em to a place where they have an open heart and they can move on. What's the most loving thing for both parties to do? And sometimes the most loving thing is to move on. That's the question. The work is to get the person to a place where they can have a deep love for themselves. When you have a deep love for yourself, you won't tolerate being treated less than that. So a lot of people do move on and a lot of people, the relationship dynamic completely changes. And it's a work in progress. Dr. Nima ⭐Gold GemWhy do we step over these red flags when it comes to love? When it comes to sex, and it comes to money? And the answer to that is "FANTASY". We have fantasies from childhood when it comes to love. When it comes to sexuality, we have sexual trauma. There is your first sexual experience. Oftentimes, there's incest with family members. This is gonna be very triggering to a lot of people, but we talk about it very openly. Our sexual identity, our love identity, and our money identity comes from past experiences, our cultureDr. Nima ⭐Gold GemIf you don't experience that level of feeling seen and attuned emotionally by a conscious parent, a fantasy gets implanted with love. I'm gonna have somebody make, totally adore and worship me with money. Oh, I'm gonna be rich and famous. So now you have this fantasy of I wanna be famous,Dr. Nima ⭐Gold GemSo what happens is when you get into a relationship with somebody, two people have these uncovered fantasies that they project onto one another called a shared fantasy. And this is what fuels the trauma bond, it's the shared fantasy. And so part of healing from a trauma bond is dismantling that fantasy and really finding appreciation in reality. Changing your relationship to dopamine and getting the reward of the fame or the likes and the whatever, and to really give, learn how to give that to self.Dr. Nima ⭐Gold GemIt's like you've been born into a fishbowl with dirty water. You're saying, how do you heal from that? You gotta get out of that fishbowl. You gotta be planted into an aquarium that's clean or a garden where the soil has been toxic and deficient. You gotta remove yourself from that and put yourself in healthy soil and learn how to create a boundary around that soil that says, this is who I am. So now when you go in different places and other people have opinions about you that are different than you, you're able to say, no, this is what I feel about me regardless, and that is a spiritual journey.Dr. Nima ⭐Gold GemThe first place to begin starts to learn how to the different parts of the nervous system and learn what they feel like when they get activated and how to operate the machinery.Because without that, business doesn't work. Your relationship with money wouldn't work. Your intimate partnerships, they're always, you're always activating one another. Yep. So this was critical information that I really needed to learn and so I teach what I most need to learn now.RESOURCESWebsites and Social Media links:IG: @drnimaFB: Trigger Proof Regulate Stress & Strengthen Immunity during a CrisisMain website: https://drnima.com/-------------------Commit First is a Personal Development Podcast for Entrepreneurs and can be found on:Our website →Apple Podcasts →Spotify ->Youtube →Or on any other favorite podcast player app.--------------🙌 Be sure to follow Sagi Shrieber on Instagram→ https://www.instagram.com/sagishrieber/

Episode 131: How to get Productive & Generate Monetary Success even When You're a Creative (w/Didi Medina)

Episode 131: How to get Productive & Generate Monetary Success Even When You're a Creative (w/Didi Medina)Today on the show we have Didi Medina. Didi is a product design and leadership consultant. He's been in the game for over 10 years in the tech industry, working with companies in New York, San Francisco, here in Israel, and all over the world. He's very much like me, in the way that we both come from the tech world with over 10 years of experience in product design.  He managed to get to a very high income while also being that creative, that guy that starts many projects, just like a lot of us.Didi is here to talk about that, not specifically the figures, but how do you get productive? How do you manage to start a project? Finish your project. How do you become resilient? How do we not stop in the face of adversity? What is the right mindset to have about these things? Didi has such an amazing, tremendous concept about all these things from his experience and his unique philosophy, which you will see. Guys, enjoy this episode, the Commit First podcast with Didi Medina. Let's begin!Brought to you by...Our very own app! Affirmations & Co - Crush Limiting Beliefs and Manifest Your Goals with Affirmations!Follow others, get inspired by their affirmations and make them your own, add reminders of your OWN affirmations on your phone, and add widgets to help you manifest quickly!Get it on the app store or Google Play:iOS (Apple App Store) →Android (Google Play) →-------------------Timestamps & Gold Gems:[5:57 - 6:22] Didi Medina ⭐Gold Gem  You'll think like most artists would define themselves as successful as an artist if it makes over a certain dollar or not. Which kind of brings us to a very simple point. It's like, you have to have the humility to accept that certain things are better than, “I'm making money than others”. And you cannot make certain things become the vehicle to the billion-dollar baby if it's not optimized for that.[9:40 - 10:52] Didi Medina ⭐Gold Gem  Everything that has a bigger reward tends to take longer and requires relatively more pain and adversity to overcome. You're not gonna get through that, to see the other side of your work unless you can keep yourself lonely-headed, and whatever works for you in that process is a blessing. Some people find the gym to be a way to keep themselves grounded and patient and calm the process. And other people find affirmations to be, in some people, do a hybrid in both, and some people do yoga. I think whatever it is you choose to do, there's a bunch of different tools. I think it's fair to assume that anything you pursue to do that has delayed returns, right? It's like I start work, I break ground today, I'm probably going, gonna see the fruits of my labor in a year plus from now.  In any sort of meaningful way and probably like in a substantial way, like even further down the line. You're gonna have to stomach a lot of like, patience and there are all these tools are very useful in calling yourself fuck down. Yeah. And just taking it, step by step[15:37 - 15:56] Didi Medina ⭐Gold GemThere's a whole like psychological paradox that explains that one with the Dunning-Kruger effect. It explains our confidence towards things, right? Like it's on a, it's an inverse belt curve. It's like when you know very little about something, you're very confident about it. As you learn more about it, you get very petrified about it, and as you become an expert and you're very confident and comfortable[16:43 - 17:58] Didi Medina ⭐Gold Gem  The way I usually like to reference it is like, people have to be both methodical and disciplined, right? It's if you're all disciplined, you can work really hard in the wrong direction. If you're all methodical, with no discipline, you can be a complete philosopher, right? And you need to have enough methodology to put your hard work to good use, which is not given. Working hard does not mean it's being applied in the right way. You can learn really fast and hard in the wrong direction. That is absolutely possible. Yeah. So you need to know how to cycle through that sometimes if you find yourself working really hard, Not getting to the results you want.Having the humility to step back and being like, maybe it's not about me, not trying hard enough. It's about me applying that effort to the wrong place and really trying to reflect. Other times you can find yourself overthinking it, over-planning something to death, and being like trying to convince yourself, out of every possible risk. And that's also a good time to just,  shut up and just do learn. And then when you get to the bottom of that curve, like then make the decisions on what is and what isn't, cuz your brain is gonna both for better and for worse, try to make assumptions way too far into the pipe in advance to try to protect you.[24:31 - 25:26] Didi Medina ⭐Gold Gem The experiential level of your body is going to conflict with what you understand intellectually. And that's where these tools really come in, they police your emotional level, meditating right? A little bit more can help slow down that response of going from, I feel a lot of control to needing to do something about it.Yeah. So that's yeah. All those tools really help slow down that emotional state to try to keep up, with what you already understand to be true on an intellectual level. And I think like over time as you take on more risk and you tolerate more risk and you get more comfortable with just risk being all around you, your tolerance goes up, you'll find needing these tools less and less for those reasons. [26:27 - 26:58] Didi Medina ⭐Gold Gem One thing that I do is, I found it I think from Tim Ferris a long time ago. It's like one of those things that like all the methodologies and ways of doing things. This thing, this one stuck with me was like, Fear-Setting, right? It's the human condition that is programmed to be afraid of loss more than it is programmed to pursue opportunity, right? So if you're trying to understand why you're reacting to something in a certain way, that doesn't make sense to you. [29:39 - 30:07] Didi Medina ⭐Gold Gem Write problems that you're trying to solve. Talk to people who've already solved it. That's the hard rule. It's like, don't ask people to help theorize what they think would work if they were in your shoes or whatever. It's very dangerous. Like you don't need more speculation, right? It's like you wanna solve problem X, find someone who's already solved it, and then go talk to them. You'll get a whole different experience. So that's like number one, right? And then if you can't get mentors, be your own mentor.RESOURCES:Websites and Social Media links:https://www.didimedina.com/https://twitter.com/thatguydidiFear-Setting: The Most Valuable Exercise I Do Every Month By Tim FerrisFear-Setting TemplateBook Mentioned:The Coddling of the American Mind by Jonathan Haidt  & Greg Lukianoff -------------------Commit First is a Personal Development Podcast for Entrepreneurs and can be found on:Our website →Apple Podcasts →Spotify ->Youtube →Or on any other favorite podcast player app.--------------🙌 Be sure to follow Sagi Shrieber on Instagram→ https://www.instagram.com/sagishrieber/

Episode 128: 2 Ways To Start A Business When You Don’t Have Any Funds

2 Ways To Start A Business When You Don’t Have Any FundsIn this episode, one person came to us today and he was like an artist and he wants to develop his business as an artist, but he is like a very talented artist, but at the moment, his art is not selling. This whole like social media thing, right? And I wouldn't be able to grow it in the direction that I want to. And again, it comes to the long-term vision cause when you have that long-term vision, you can actually do it. If you don't have that long-term vision, then you're stuck. You can chase your own tail. So one direction is to self-fund it, bootstrap it, work your way, build a business around your superpowers.[2:49 - 3:02] Sagi Shrieber ⭐Gold GemIf you don't have the long-term vision and all you want to do now is your gut feeling, which is I’m going to work on my art or on this new direction, which is not going to bring me money, probably around like the upcoming months or even years, then you're not doing the right thing.[3:15 - 3:31] Sagi Shrieber ⭐Gold GemThe other thing we just told him is there's another route. You can get investment, right? But that means you're putting all your focus right now, on finding an investor on meeting and pitching investors and getting some funds in to fund your operation, right? Like a startup like a lot of companies do, which is ok.[4:06 - 4:21] Sagi Shrieber ⭐Gold GemI am a bootstrapper by heart. If I bring money in, it would be out of the pure necessity of bringing an investor in because it's a strategic move or I've figured out the product market fit and now you know I can grow. Episode 117: How to Manifest your Goals with The Law of Attraction (w/ Joni Rae)

On this week's episode, I am grateful to finally have Joni Rae with us at the Commit First Podcast. Joni Rae is the founder of The Mindset Group, a boutique leadership development firm that exists to align people and teams, they offer interactive and experiential seminars, coaching programs, and corporate workshops and consulting. Their team has helped hundreds of clients go from overwhelm and chaos to clarity and sustainability. She's with us to explain and tell us more about the Law of Attraction and how Living in Alignment works. Working with the law of attraction to manifest your dreams may sound straightforward, but it actually involves careful intention, action, and a degree of surrender. This principle suggests that empty space cannot truly exist, and always needs to be filled by something. As such, it's important to make space for positive change in your life by clearing out negativity. It tells us that there will always be things to be unhappy about, if you look for them, but rather than dwelling on things that are going wrong, finding ways to make things better is fundamental to shifting your reality into one that attracts what you desire. That's not to say you can't acknowledge negativity or feel emotions related to it. Rather, it's about doing what you can at the moment to improve any negative situation and letting the rest go. This follows living in alignment with your goals and taking the necessary steps to bring them to life. How? Join us as we dig deeper about this with Jodi Rae.
